🎓 Tennis Pathway Program Overview

Veneto Tennis Club – Junior & Teen Development Flow

Progressive Tennis uses modified equipment (lower compression balls, smaller courts, and age-appropriate racquets) to match the physical and developmental stage of each athlete. This approach allows players to build proper technique and confidence at every stage.

  • Ratio: 6:1

    Court: ½-sized court

    Ball: Red ball (75% reduced bounce)

    Overview:

    The first step in the pathway! Young players are introduced to tennis in a fun, high-energy environment. Classes focus on coordination, racquet control, and learning the basic strokes.

    Key Goals:

    • Rally 3 balls in a row

    • Start a point with an overhead serve

    • Play a volley at the net

  • Ratio: 6:1

    Court: ¾-sized court

    Ball: Orange ball (50% reduced bounce)

    Overview:

    At this level, players continue to improve their technical foundation while learning how to play structured points and rallies. Movement and placement become a focus.

    Key Goals:

    • Rally 6 balls in a row

    • Serve in both deuce and ad courts

    • Hit overheads and target volleys

  • Ratio: 6:1

    Court: Full-sized court

    Ball: Green-dot (25% reduced bounce)

    Overview:

    Players now transition to a full-sized court. With improved consistency and strength, they learn advanced rally control, serving precision, and more tactical gameplay.

    Key Goals:

    • Serve with power and placement

    • Return serves consistently

    • Sustain longer rallies with directional control

  • Ratio: 6:1

    Court: Full-sized court

    Ball: Yellow ball

    Overview:

    Ideal for players who have completed Green Dot but need more time before progressing into transition or teen tennis. Emphasis is on stroke consistency, correcting weaknesses, and building confidence.

    Overview:

    The Transition program is for juniors that have solid fundamentals and can play tennis with a mid/high degree of consistency and precision. Juniors in this program continue to work on and improve all their strokes while beginning to develop game strategies for match play. The goal is to reinforce solid all-around stroke fundamentals and a better understanding of court positioning and shot selection.

    Overview:

    Designed for teens playing recreationally. Focuses on stroke development, tactics, and match awareness in a casual, fun setting.

    For teenagers who are brand new to tennis. This program mirrors the Red/Orange/Green structure but is adapted for teens. It builds foundational skills and prepares players for Teen Tennis or beyond.

    Overview:

    Designed for intermediate to advanced players. Includes focused match play (singles and doubles), strategic coaching, and development of competitive court presence.

At Veneto Tennis Club, tennis is a sport for life—and it’s never too late to learn or level up your game. Whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time, returning after years away, or looking to compete in social leagues, our adult and senior programs are designed with flexibility, fun, and functional progress in mind.

🎯 Who It’s For:

• Adults of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players

• Seniors seeking fitness, social engagement, or casual play

• Individuals looking to improve technique, stay active, and meet like-minded players

  • The Adult 1 program is designed for the beginner adult player who has little to no experience in tennis. The goal is to introduce the player to the fundamentals of tennis including grip, footwork, forehand, backhand, serve and volleys.

    The lesson plans will focus on:  

    • Initial tennis related warmup

    • Provide correct grips and techniques for ground strokes, volleys, overheads and serves

    • Correct footwork and injury prevention 

    • Five controls of the ball 

    • Basic singles and doubles tactics and strategies, 

    • Volume hitting

    • Points play to enhance the main theme of the practice.

  • The Adult 2 program builds on adult 1 by continuing to reinforce basic stroke foundation and footwork while focusing more on control and consistency. Advanced shot selection like topspin and slice and advanced game strategies with be introduced to enhance the players skill and knowledge of the game.

    The lesson plans will focus on:

    • Continue developing all strokes and foot work skills

    • Close and open stances

    • Top spin slice, five controls of the ball

    • Volume hitting

    • Advanced singles and doubles tactics and strategies

    • Mental game play

    • Points play to enhance the main theme of the practice

  • The Adult 3 program is designed for intermediate adult players who want to take their game to the next level. These players have a solid foundation in tennis and can execute various strokes on the forehand, backhand, serve and volleys. In this program, players will continue to develop all strokes with an emphasis on precision and pace during shot selection. A better understanding of court positioning and game tactics will be taught using game play scenarios.

    • Continue developing strokes with a focus on placing the ball in various areas of the court with precision and pace

    • Repetition of advanced shots such as forehand topspin, backhand topspin/slice, serving in specific areas of the serve box, and volleying to specific areas of the court

    • Groundstroke volume hitting to develop ball consistency

    • Court awareness including when to use offensive and defensive shots

    • Game play focusing on specific strategies to win points

  • Ratio: Open format

    A fast-paced, music-driven session combining tennis and fitness. A great way to burn calories while improving movement and reaction time.

    Highlights:

    • No partner required

    • Rotating drills and mini games

    • Social and fitness-focused

    • Great for mixed skill groups
